Cryptic SMP had a great run, starting with our first season on Aternos and continuing into Season 2, which became the prime of the server.
Season 2 was one of the most enjoyable periods of Cryptic SMP, and we genuinely wish we could go back to those days.
When Season 3 arrived, we wanted to take things further.
We invested well over $100 into Cryptic SMP, including the website, server hosting, Discord boosts, and new systems such as an economy system.
The staff and I were excited to see what Season 3 could become.
Unfortunately, despite the investment and effort, the server didn't make a single cent.
Continuing to spend more than $100 every month on a server that wasn't generating anything back wasn't financially sustainable.
After days of consideration, I made the decision to shut the server down.
The shutdown is currently permanent.
However, there is still a possibility that Cryptic SMP could return in the future.
Maybe we'll come back.
Maybe we'll try again.
Maybe Cryptic will have another chapter.
But for now, the server is closed.
