Cryptic SMP had a great run.
From our very first season running on Aternos to Season 2, which became the prime of Cryptic SMP, we created memories, fought battles, built things, and most importantly, had fun together.
Season 2 was something special.
It was the season where Cryptic SMP really felt alive, and honestly, we wish we could go back to those days.
Then came Season 3.
We put a lot into trying to make the server bigger and better. We invested well over $100 into the server, including the website, server hosting, Discord boosts, and new systems such as an economy system.
The staff and I were genuinely excited about Season 3.
But unfortunately, Cryptic SMP didn't make a single cent.
Continuing to spend over $100 every month on a server that wasn't bringing anything back simply wasn't sustainable.
After days of consideration, I made the difficult decision to shut Cryptic SMP down.
For now, the shutdown is permanent.
But that doesn't necessarily mean Cryptic is gone forever.
Maybe one day we'll come back.
Maybe we'll give it another try.
Maybe Cryptic will return better than ever.
But for now…
Farewell, Cryptic.

This was the season where we had some of our best memories and the server felt the most alive.

Season 3 brought new ideas, new systems, an economy, a new website, better hosting, and a lot of excitement.
Unfortunately, Season 3 would become the final chapter of Cryptic SMP — at least for now.
